Bombay Bicycle Club - Lights Out, Words Gone ( Live at Glastonbury Festival 2011)

Stepping out of my detached and professional journalistic viewpoint for a second, I am ridiculously excited to finally, (finally!) see Bombay Bicycle Club for the first time in a few weeks at Reading Festival. They've been a favourite band of mine for quite some time, and judging by the video above, there's never been a better time to experience their live show what with new songs sounding as instant as they do. Lets just hope the Reading crowd is a little more animated than the Glasto one. Keep an eye out here for a review of their album "A Different Kind Of Fix" at the end of August: I have my signed copy preordered, and I'm sure it's bound to be fabulous.

  1. Ha! The crowd was about as stiff as that chicken with the stick up his butt....Lights Out, Words Gone is some good shiz! I'm really digging the vibes. The ending reminds me a little bit of Are You Sleeping / Frère Jacques. In my opinion, Lucy Rose complements the song very well. I just youtubed their song Shuffle and I thought it was dope also....I'll be keeping an out 4 your review because i'm definitely considering picking up "A Different Kind Of Fix".

  2. I agree, her voice works perfectly with Jack's, you often have to remind yourself that it's two different people singing. What with this and Shuffle, i'm expecting great things from the album! Thanks for your continued support :)

  3. BBC is definitely becoming one of my favorite bands. IHTBBISTL is amazing so I can only imagine what A Different Fix is going to sound like. I'm actually going to see them in Sept for their US tour, so I'm super pumped about that! If you don't mind I'd like to feature this post on my music blog, of course providing a link back to your site. I was searching for the full version of this song on Google and came across your blog. I love it! The posts are so eloquently written. Very nice job :)
